“She’s right, you know,” Daniel murmurs, placing a hand on Jack’s shoulder. Jack doesn’t shrug it off. 

 

“I like our chances better when it’s the three of us,” he mutters. 

 

Peggy’s face softens slightly. She walks over to them, places her arm through Daniel’s, takes Jack’s hand with her free one and gives it a quick squeeze. 

 

“We’ll be back before you know it,” she says.

 

Daniel smiles. “Won’t even give you a chance to miss us.” 

 

Yeah, Jack thinks, Right.
